Nice idea and decent quality for the price. The ruffles aren’t too ruffle-y once it’s spread out, more of a wave than a ruffle, which I liked. The elastic was relatively taut, but most people will probably need to stick a pin through it and into the box spring to keep it from slipping down. If you have a box spring, go ahead and get this, it’s pretty good for the money. If you don’t have a box spring, keep reading…I ended up returning it, but only because I couldn’t get it to work with my metal platform frame. I believe the description does say it is for use with box spring but someone in the questions said it worked fine with just a metal frame - not so.My thought was that i could put it on the mattress and just pull the sides of the mattress protector over it so I wouldn’t constantly be bumping it making the bed, etc. That was all well and good until I got to the flat sheet. You can’t tuck the flat sheet under the mattress at the bottom without also tucking in the bed skirt. If all you use is a fitted sheet, then maybe it would work without a box spring but my bad for not thinking it all the through.Since that plan failed, I tried using the elastic to tuck it around the edge of the metal frame. Probably could’ve made that work but it just looked sloppy. Then I saw where someone had used binder clips (on a bed skirt supposedly made for metal frames). Tried that but still just looked sloppy so I gave up on this one.BUT, the binder clip idea is genius! I was looking for a new bed skirt because the one I had wouldn’t stay put on the metal platform frame. So, I ended up cutting out the center (the part that lays on the box spring/frame) and then used 1 1/4” binder clips to attach the skirt part to the frame. Works perfectly! You can flip the inner clip “handle” down so it ends up on the inside part of the frame and just squeeze the other handle and take it out of the clip. I bought white clips so you wouldn’t see them on the bed skirt, but if your comforter hangs down a little past the mattress, you won’t see them anyway when the bed is made.In the end, I saved the money on new bed skirt, recycled my old skirt, spent $5 on binder clips, and it looks great!
